Raffles in Queensland are regulated by the Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming Act 1999, with rules based on ticket sales. No license is required for sales under $2,000 (Category 1) or $2,001–$50,000 (Category 2, non-profit), but they must follow strict guidelines, including total prize value being at least 20% of ticket sales and proper record-keeping for five years.

Key Queensland Raffle Rules

• Licensing & Thresholds:

  • Category 1 (No License): Total sales up to \(\$2,000\).

  • Category 2 (No License): Total sales \(\$2,001\) – \(\$50,000\) (must be non-profit).

  • Category 3 (License Required): Sales exceeding \(\$50,000\). Requires OLGR permit.

• Prize Requirements: Total prizes must equal at least 20% of the total estimated ticket sales.

• Prohibited Prizes: Weapons, tobacco, surgical procedures, or cash exceeding \(\$25,000\) (or \(\$100,000\) for specific, high-end, licensed, non-profit events). Alcohol is limited in certain contexts.

• Drawing the Raffle: Major prizes must be drawn first unless an alternative, clearly advertised order is used. If a minor prize is drawn first, the ticket must be returned to the pool for the major draw.

• Ticket Information: Tickets must list the promoter's name, ticket price, prize details, and draw date.

• Record Keeping: Financial records must be kept for five years. 

• Specific Considerations Minors: Tickets cannot be sold to children if the prize includes alcohol or gaming products.

• If ticket sales are insufficient, organisers reserve the right to reduce prize value(s) to comply with QLD regulations."

• Maximum ticket sales must not exceed $12500 for this draw. Ticket sales will end once maximum limit is reached 2500 tickets on or before 21st May 2026.

• Check your email for presale ticket info, including your ticket numbers that will be allocated at the time of purchase.

• Tickets purchased on the night will be limited to $5 per 1 ticket ONLY (bundle ticket sales are only available on prepurchase)

• Prizes will be drawn at the event and you Must be in attendance to claim your prizes. (weather pending- In the event of a reschedule, we will do a live draw at the next event)

• Eligibility: Open to the general public AND financial members of Moto Magic Inc, their family members (spouse, de facto, children, parents, siblings).

• Exclusions: Management Committee members, President, Secretary, Treasurer, and their immediate families are not eligible.

• Entry: Members and family members can enter by purchasing raffle tickets.

• Prizes: As listed on the ticket.

• Draw: Date and location specified here.

• Winner notification: Winner will be notified via contact details provided on the ticket stub.

• Claiming prizes: Winner MUST be present at Moto Magic Inc Bike Night on 23rd May to claim the prize. If not present, prize may be redrawn.
